In my opinion there are four basic things to initially address when building or customizing a 1911 style pistol. First and foremost is reliability. A pistol that does not function properly is worthless in any environment. Next in no particular order are; a good quality set of sights, a good crisp trigger pull that breaks crisp and clean every time, and comfort. A pistol should incorporate the right combination of parts and contouring that fits you best. After these areas are addressed, other options can be added to customize your pistol to your liking and personal taste.
